N-tonic's president, Debra Callabresi, was the creative director for one of the first sponsored animation projects for the web. Absolut Vodka sponsored a website with several components devoted to the art of independent animation. One of the features was an online animation festival including some of the world's greatest independent animators. Here's a few selections from that work.
